Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in history
On the night of February 7-8, Tampa played host to the final Super Bowl game of the National Football League.
The 55th Super Bowl was won by the home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defeating their opponents from the Kansas City Chiefs (31-9). It was the team’s second title from Florida (the first triumph was in 2002).
They failed to put up a fight – the Pirates had already created a sizeable lead in the first half. The home team scored 4 touchdowns and a field goal. The Kansas City Chiefs failed to score (only 3 field goals), their second consecutive Super Bowl win.
